Fresh Meat – Queer Art Series by Lukas Blasberg
May I introduce you to Fresh Meat – A Queer Art Series by Lukas Blasberg. The story is based on the personal and rather hostile experience of gay online dating. The internet has revolutionised the way we communicate. As easy as it has become to talk to someone, it has become impersonal. We detach the human that is behind the icon from themselves. They become a thing.
Dating apps like Tinder, Bumble or Grindr fail on a grand scale due to this very reason. Online dating services promote a “relationshop” rather than relationship
Artist Lukas Blasberg took real life Tinder, Grindr etc. conversations and created products that depict each dilemma, he encountered. From fetishes to sexual objectification– every product carries a personal story that can be read by pointing your phone camera against it.
Lukas Blasberg is a contemporary media artist based in London. His work explores the relationship between emerging sexualities, consumerist fetishism and multimedia experiences. Enough bollocks. Lukas Blasberg does what Lukas Blasberg wants.
